ISLAMABAD: The Power Division has released performance data for December 2025 and January 2026, revealing that industrial consumers received cumulative financial relief of Rs12.125 billion under the government’s three-year long-term concessional electricity package.
According to an official statement issued on Friday, a total of 127,686 industrial consumers benefited from the scheme during the two-month period, representing 46 percent of the 278,961 registered industrial consumers across the country.
Under the surplus electricity package, both small and large industries were granted a uniform benefit of Rs10.3 per unit on incremental electricity consumption. During December and January combined, industries consumed 1,176 million units of electricity under the concessional arrangement, accounting for 23.8 percent of total industrial electricity sales in the two months.
In December alone, 557 million units were sold under the scheme, representing 23 percent of the total industrial electricity sold during the month. This translated into financial relief of Rs5.743 billion, benefiting 125,829 industrial consumers — around 45 percent of total registered users.
In January 2026, industrial consumption under the surplus package rose to 619 million units, accounting for 24.5 percent of total industrial electricity sales for the month. The financial relief during January amounted to Rs6.382 billion, while the number of benefiting consumers increased to 127,686.
The Power Division stated that the concessional package aims to enhance industrial productivity, improve capacity utilization, and support economic growth by providing affordable electricity to the manufacturing sector.
